Most people know that the body needs vitamins and minerals to thrive. We are aware how beneficial popular vitamins like Vitamin A, B and C are for our bodies; but we never really consider the importance of minerals, especially the not very much talked about ones like magnesium.

The mineral is isolated in a number of ways, the most popular of which is the Pidgeon method because of its versatility and cost efficiency. This method collects magnesium from a condenser for processing. There is also the electrolytic method which involves combining seawater with lime. Another is the thermal-reduction method where magnesium oxide is reduced using an agent.
Humans consume magnesium because it helps us maintain normal muscle and nerve function. It also strengthens our immune system and bones, and is beneficial to the heart. It may sound a bit over the top, but the mineral plays a part in some 300 biochemical reactions in our bodies!
Unfortunately, not consuming enough magnesium may result in muscle spasms, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety disorders, migraines, osteoporosis, and cerebral infarction. On the other hand, if we ingest too much magnesium, it can cause diarrhea.
